Reflection
An honest look at familiar experiences and patterns can open new possibilities.
About the Center
APIC Reflection Center is the nonclinical home for family violence intervention, relationship education, personal development, professional training, books, speaking, and consulting.
Our purpose
The Center’s approach is respectful, reflective, and growth-oriented. Participants are invited to explore familiar patterns, consider new perspectives, and carry useful insight into life beyond the classroom, group, or workshop.
The purpose is not to judge, label, or direct people. It is to create a thoughtful and credible setting in which self-discovery, learning, and meaningful change can develop.
What guides the work
An honest look at familiar experiences and patterns can open new possibilities.
Understanding grows when learning connects with real life and personal meaning.
People are supported in discovering alternatives and deciding what they want to carry forward.
Education can strengthen awareness, reduce harm, and support safer relationships and communities.
Meaningful change is developed through practice, curiosity, and continued learning.

Professional background
Dr. Alina Stelzer, PsyD, LPC, known to clients and colleagues as Dr. Alina, is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and Licensed Professional Counselor with more than thirty years of combined experience in mental health practice, professional education, and family violence intervention.
She began her professional life as a high school mathematics and science teacher in her native Lesotho, Southern Africa, before immigrating to the United States and retraining in psychology and counseling. Her clinical career has taken her from the Gonzaga University Counseling Center to the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services to more than two decades of private practice in the Atlanta area. A Certified Family Violence Intervention Provider, she has operated her own state-certified family violence intervention program for nearly two decades, has worked directly with men navigating intimate partner dynamics for more than twenty-five years, and has more than twenty-five years of clinical experience working with individuals navigating alcohol, substance abuse, and addiction.
She is the author of Invisible Harm: Psychological Abuse of Men, Recognition, Recovery and the Path Forward, a comprehensive clinical guide to psychological abuse of men by female intimate partners. The book draws on nearly two decades of direct clinical observation and is written for the men living through it, for the families and friends watching from the outside, and for the clinicians, attorneys, prosecutors, and employers who encounter these men every day without a framework adequate to understand what they are seeing.
Her publishing and author work, including Invisible Harm, is presented through Invisible Harm, a commercial publishing and merchandise division of APIC Reflection Center, LLC. Merchandise is not currently offered for sale.
