About the program

A safe, structured, and nonjudgmental environment.

State certified program

This 21st Century Family Violence Intervention Program (FVIP) provides a safe, structured, and nonjudgmental environment for individuals to reflect on their experiences, legal involvement, relationship patterns, and personal choices. We understand that involvement with the legal system can be overwhelming, stressful, and emotionally draining. Many individuals experience fear, uncertainty, shame, frustration, and concerns about their future, family, reputation, and personal stability. Our goal is to provide a professional and supportive space where participants can engage in meaningful growth while navigating these challenges.

The program serves both court-ordered (court-mandated) and non-mandated men and women. In keeping with state policy, men and women attend separate classes. All classes are held online, and participants can enroll from anywhere in Georgia. The program is based in Marietta, Georgia, and serves Marietta, Kennesaw, and the metro Atlanta area.

The program is designed to help participants develop greater self-awareness, accountability, emotional regulation, and healthier relationship behaviors. Participants are guided through meaningful discussions and evidence-based reflections focused on their roles in their families, relationships, and communities. The goal is to help individuals recognize harmful patterns, take responsibility for their actions, and build healthier ways of responding to conflict, stress, anger, and emotional triggers. A core focus of the program is understanding and maintaining safety in every relationship—emotionally, psychologically, and physically. Participants learn practical tools for improving communication, managing emotions, establishing healthy boundaries, and building relationships rooted in respect, trust, and emotional safety.

This program is not simply about meeting legal requirements. It is about creating lasting personal change, strengthening relationships, and developing the skills necessary to build and maintain love that feels safe for everyone involved.

Real change begins with self-reflection, accountability, and support.

The learning experience

More than receiving information.

Participants examine the beliefs, interpretations, and familiar patterns that shape how they respond in relationships. Thoughtful questions, guided reflection, and practical learning help participants recognize patterns, understand relational dynamics, and discover non-harmful alternatives.

The group remains structured while allowing room for honest reflection, including the complexity of experiences that may not fit a simple label.

Safety remains central

Learning must support victim safety.

The program keeps the safety of partners, former partners, children, and families at the center of intervention and prevention. Facilitators remain attentive to coercion, intimidation, retaliation, and other risks that may continue outside the group.

Safety-aware practice also makes room to understand individual circumstances carefully. An arrest alone does not tell the whole story; some participants may also have experienced victimization, coercion, or fear. These experiences can be acknowledged without losing sight of safety, program standards, or the purpose of family violence intervention.
